The Steps of a Roof Job, in Order
Before agreeing to anything, most people want a picture of how the work will unfold. This is the sequence we use.
- 1
A look at the roof, with pictures
We check each slope, peek into the attic if we can reach it and photograph what we find. Then we sit down with those photos so you see exactly what we saw.
- 2
Your estimate and options on paper
The scope comes to you in writing, with options wherever a real choice exists, like shingle versus metal. When a storm caused the damage, we can deal directly with your insurance adjuster on the claim.
- 3
Permit and start date
For replacements we pull the permit and pick a start date. The day before, we tell you where the trailer will go and which spots to keep clear of cars and pets.
- 4
Tear-off and new roof, yard protected
Plantings are covered and old material drops straight into the container. Underlayment, flashing and roofing are laid in sequence, and the crew sweeps the yard before leaving every evening.
- 5
Final walk with you
After the permit inspector signs off, we walk the yard and roofline with you. We check the gutters and drip edge together and roll the magnet over the lawn once more before the job is finished.

Roofing Services for Your Home
We do roof replacement, roof repair, roof inspections, storm damage repair, gutters and metal roofing, and nothing else. We are a licensed general contractor and a James Hardie Preferred Contractor, and our roofing work carries a 5-year workmanship warranty. Every service starts the same way: someone walks your roof, takes photos and explains what is there before anyone talks about price.

Roof Replacement
A full tear-off and new roof system, with soft decking replaced, flashing renewed and your yard swept clean at the end of every work day.

Roof Repair
Leaks, lifted shingles, split pipe boots and worn flashing repaired with matched materials, and your yard swept clean before we leave.
Roof Inspections
A free, careful look at your shingles, flashing, vents and gutters, with photos and a plain account of what needs attention now and what can wait.
Storm Damage Repair
Lifted shingles, punctured decking and torn flashing repaired after wind and rain, with photos for your claim and your yard cleaned every evening.
Gutters
One-piece gutters and downspouts sized for heavy rain, pitched to drain fully and installed with your landscaping covered and the yard swept.
Metal Roofing
Standing seam and screw-down metal roofs, with panels cut away from your home and shavings swept off the roof before they can stain the finish.
Where the Price of a Roof Comes From
Neighbors with matching houses can get very different numbers. The roof's layout, the condition of what sits under the shingles and the material you pick all change the total. We walk you through every line of your estimate so the final bill holds no surprises.
Estimates cost nothing, come with no obligation and arrive on paper with every line spelled out. If you would like to pay for a new roof over time, financing is available.
- Square footage and slope
- The size of the roof decides how much material we buy and how many days the crew is up there. A steep roof calls for toe boards, fall protection and a slower pace, which raises the labor portion.
- The plywood underneath
- Decking stays hidden until the old roof comes off. Any boards a slow leak has softened must be swapped out, and you see photos of them before we replace anything.
- Shingle or metal
- Architectural shingles and standing seam metal differ in price, installation and warranty. Metal asks more at the start and stays on the house longer, so we price both for your roof and set them next to each other.
- Openings, valleys and vents
- Skylights, chimneys, plumbing vents and valleys each get flashing fitted by hand. A roof broken up by many angles takes more time than a plain gable.
- Permit and code work
- Replacing a roof requires a permit and inspection under the Florida Building Code, which spells out nailing and underlayment for wind. We include those requirements in your price from the start rather than tacking them on.
- Gutters and fascia
- When gutters are coming loose or the fascia board behind them has rotted, it is usually sensible to fix both while the crew is on site.

Careful Roofing, From the Ridge Down to the Lawn
Our view is simple. A new roof should not cost you a ruined flower bed, a flat tire from a stray nail or a week of debris by the garage. The roof itself has to be right, and so does everything around it.
We work on homes across Clay County and nearby St. Johns County, mostly shingle roofs on houses built in the last few decades, along with a growing number of metal roofs. Our crews handle the details that decide how long a roof lasts: starter strips, ridge vents, step flashing at sidewalls and the drip edge that keeps water off your fascia.
We keep the work calm and orderly. You will know what is happening on your home and when, and you will see the finished roof and a clean yard before we ask you to sign off.

How We Look After Your Home During the Work
A roof job is loud and messy by nature. Most of what we do differently happens on the ground, around the edges of your home, while the roof work goes on above.
Plants and surfaces covered first
Before a single shingle comes off, we lay tarps over foundation plantings and set plywood where the dumpster or trailer will sit. Your driveway and beds stay clear of the worst of it.
Magnet sweeps every evening
Roofing nails scatter into grass and mulch. At the end of each work day we run a rolling magnet across the lawn, driveway and walkways, then do it again on the final day. You should be able to walk barefoot by the time we leave.
Debris off the property daily
Old shingles, underlayment and flashing go straight into a covered container, not into a pile by the curb. Nothing sits overnight where rain can spread it.
Photos before we recommend anything
You see what we saw: the lifted tab, the cracked boot around a vent pipe, the soft spot in the decking. That way a repair or a replacement is your decision, made with the evidence in front of you.
A plain walk-through at the end
When the work is done, we walk the yard and the roofline with you. If a gutter got scuffed or a bed needs another rake, we fix it before we call the job finished.
Questions We Hear From Homeowners
Do I need a repair or a whole new roof?
It comes down to the roof's age, how widespread the wear is and how solid the decking is. A few lifted shingles or a single cracked vent boot calls for a repair. When granules are coming off every slope or the decking is soft in several places, replacement is usually the better choice. We show you our photos and tell you honestly which way we would go.
How do you protect my lawn and plantings?
Before tear-off we cover the beds along the house and protect the driveway under the container. Old roofing goes into the container as soon as it comes off. Each evening a magnet goes over the lawn, beds and driveway for nails, and on the last day we do a final pass with you.
Does the post-storm inspection cost anything?
No, it is free. We check your roof after a storm, photograph any wind or impact damage and tell you honestly whether a claim is worth filing. If it is, we can deal with your insurance adjuster directly on the storm damage claim, though the adjuster decides what is covered.
Is a new roof guaranteed?
Yes. Every new roof we install comes with a no-leak guarantee, and at handover we go over exactly what it covers.
Is financing available for a new roof?
Yes. We explain the financing options on the phone or at your estimate visit, so you can weigh paying over time against paying all at once.
Which is right for my house, shingles or metal?
Architectural shingles are less expensive to install and suit most local homes. Standing seam metal costs more at the start, stands up well to wind and summer heat and lasts far longer. We quote both for your roof so you can compare actual numbers.
How many days does a roof replacement take?
Removing the old roof and installing the new one generally takes one to three working days, depending on size, pitch and how much decking needs replacing. If an afternoon storm cuts the day short, we dry-in the roof before leaving so your home stays covered.
