Storm Damage Repair in Fleming Island, Finished Clean
After a storm, we find what the wind and rain actually did to your roof, photograph it and repair it properly. Your beds and driveway stay covered while we work, and the yard is swept before we leave each day.
When storm damage repair is the right call
Wind lifts shingle tabs and breaks the seal strip beneath them. Flying limbs crack decking. Wind-driven rain slips past flashing that looked fine the day before. Storm damage repair puts those spots back to a sound, watertight condition before a small opening becomes wet insulation and a stained ceiling.
Not every storm calls for a new roof. Often the fix is a section of shingles, a run of ridge cap or a new pipe boot. If the damage reaches across most of the roof, or the shingles were already brittle and worn thin before the storm arrived, a patch won't hold for long. In that case we'll tell you, and we'll talk through roof replacement with you instead.
During hurricane season, one tropical system can leave many roofs open at once. We work through the list in order and look after your home the same way on every job: tarps over the beds, coverings on the AC unit and a magnet sweep at the end of the day.
What our storm repair work covers
Drying in an open roof
If water is getting in, we secure the area with tarp or underlayment that is fastened down to hold through the next rain, not just weighted with a few boards.
Shingle and ridge cap replacement
Creased, torn and missing shingles come off and new ones go on, matched in profile and color as closely as current product allows. Lifted ridge cap is replaced and the new pieces are hand-sealed.
Decking and flashing
Where a limb or uplift has cracked the plywood, we cut out the damaged sheathing and replace it. Bent drip edge, loose step flashing and split pipe boots are replaced rather than caulked over.
Support with your claim
We photograph each damaged area up close and note its measurements. Once a claim is opened, we deal with your adjuster ourselves and can join them on the roof so every damaged spot gets seen. The adjuster decides coverage; our part is showing them plainly what the storm left behind.
Gutters pulled loose
Storms bend and drop gutter runs along with the roof edge. We can rehang or replace those sections on the same visit; our Gutters page has more on that work.
Signs your roof took more than a little wind
Shingles in the yard
Pieces on the lawn or driveway mean an opening somewhere above, even if you cannot see it from the ground.
Creased or lifted tabs
A straight line across a shingle shows it folded back in the wind. The seal is broken, so it can lift again in the next gust even if it is lying flat now.
New stains or a damp attic
A fresh brown ring on the ceiling or a musty smell upstairs after heavy rain usually points to a gap in flashing or a punctured deck.
Limbs on the roof
Even after a branch is pulled off, the impact can crack decking and tear underlayment beneath shingles that look intact.
Granules at the downspouts
Heavy piles of gritty granules after a storm suggest shingles were scoured by wind-blown debris.
How a storm repair job runs
- 1
A free post-storm inspection
We go over every slope, look into the attic from the access opening and take close photos of each damaged spot. You get a written summary and the pictures to keep.
- 2
Estimate and claim
You receive a line-item estimate. If you are filing a claim, we can meet your adjuster on site and go over the roof together.
- 3
Protecting your home
Before work starts, we lay ground tarps, cover shrubs and the AC unit and plan around your cars and pets. Any permit the repair needs is pulled first.
- 4
Repair day
Damaged shingles and underlayment come off, bad decking is replaced, and new underlayment, flashing and shingles go on. Debris goes straight into our trailer, not onto your lawn.
- 5
Cleanup and walk-through
We magnet-sweep the driveway, lawn and beds, take final photos and walk you through what was repaired.
How a storm repair is priced
One storm might cost you a handful of shingles, another whole sheets of decking, so the price follows the actual damage. The estimate is free, carries no obligation and puts each repair on a separate line, so every cost is clear before you agree. Financing is available for deductibles or work your policy doesn't cover.
- How far the damage spreads
- A few lifted tabs on one slope go quickly. Damage over several slopes, or reaching the ridge and valleys, takes more material and more hours.
- What's under the shingles
- Wet or cracked decking and soaked underlayment have to be replaced before new shingles go down. That only shows once the damaged shingles are off, and we send you photos of anything we find.
- Pitch and access
- Steep slopes, second-story roofs and roofs crowded by trees need more safety setup and slower work.
- Matching what you have
- Discontinued or older shingles can be hard to match, and metal panels need the right profile and fasteners. Both affect what we order.
- Code requirements
- Florida's building code caps how much of a roof can be repaired. If the damage goes beyond that limit, nearby areas may have to be brought up to current standards, which can enlarge the job.
Questions homeowners ask after a storm
Something not covered here? (904) 925-3052
Do I need to contact my insurer before you come out?
No. Many people book our free post-storm inspection first so they can tell early on whether a claim makes sense. Our photos and notes give the adjuster clear evidence to review, though the decision on coverage is always theirs.
Will replacement shingles blend with my roof?
In most cases they are close. Your existing shingles have faded with the weather, so new ones look slightly brighter at first. If your line is no longer made, we show you the nearest options before anything is ordered.
Can this be repaired, or does the roof need replacing?
If the damage is confined and the rest of the roof is sound, a repair will last. If the shingles are brittle all over or most slopes took damage, a patch won't hold, and we tell you that directly.
What keeps my yard and driveway from getting torn up?
Shrubs, beds and the AC unit are covered before we start, and old material goes directly into our trailer. At the end of each day we pull a magnet across the driveway, lawn and beds to pick up stray nails.
Do you repair storm damage on metal roofs?
Yes. We swap out dented or loose panels, reset or replace fasteners that have worked loose and reseal the trim. Our Metal Roofing page has more detail.

Have the storm damage looked at properly
We will check your roof, photograph what we find and explain your options before any work begins. The inspection costs you nothing.
